Recently, CIE won the bid for engineering design of 10000 kt/a Mining and Dressing Capacity Expansion of Makeng Iron Mine of Fujian Makeng Mining Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Makeng Mining"), which further consolidated its advantages in the mining sector and effectively enhanced its industry influence in ultra-large and ultra-deep underground mining.

The project is an important support for Makeng Mining to achieve its development strategic objectives, and it is also a key project to implement the national "Keystone Plan" and other resource policies and further increase the supply of domestic iron ore resources. Based on the concept of "overall planning, step-by-step implementation and scientific development", CIE designed an underground 10000 kt/a mining system, a capacity expansion and renovation system for 7000 kt/a dressing project in the early stage, as well as related utilities and auxiliary facilities, safety facilities and construction drawings for Makeng Mining.

Makeng Iron Mine is so far an extremely large underground mine in China, with thick ore body and complex hydrogeology, and it is located in the soluble rock area with strong karstification, water yield and water-filled pit. So, it is difficult to mine.
