CIE signs a heavy metal regulation design contract of former Lianyuan Metallurgical Building Materials Plant
It was known on June 25 that, after signing the design contract for the comprehensive treatment of heavy metal waste in Qingshuitang industrial area of Zhuzhou city and competing for the tender with different environmental protection companies, the Environmental and Energy Engineering technology Co. of CIE finally has signed a design contract for the “ comprehensive treatment and regulation project of heavy metal waste left over in former Lianyuan Metallugical Building Materials Plant” with the urban construction investment development Co., Ltd of Lianyuan city.
The former Lianyuan Metallugical Building Materials Plant is located in Liumutang to the west suburb of Lantian office in Lianyuan city. The 201,900 t heavy metal wastes, grey dust and covering soil left over in the plant are not disposed according to related regulations, its east, south and west side is adjacent to the rivers respectively, and there is a big hidden danger of environmental pollution.
After field investigation of the project site, in combination with the regional landform and topography condition, CIE determines the “harmless” technical treatment method for “stabilizing/solidifying+antiseepage landfill+treatment of heavy metal waste water, the daily waste treatment capacity of the project is defined as 300t. The landfill of the project covers an area of about 2.3 hectares, 1#and 2#pollutant intercepting dam will be built respectively at east and west side ditch mouth to form a complete sealed landfill pit, the lowest elevation of landfill downstream bottom is 178m, the highest elevation of the surrounding slope top is 196m, the final landfill elevation is 205m, the designed total landfill capacity is 200, 000m3.
In the project, CIE adheres to the principles of “ecological protection and environmental protection”, “reduction, recycling and harmless treatment”, in addition to treatment of soil and groundwater pollution caused by the project wastes, CIE will also use mature and reliable technical measures to protect the natural environment and people’s health from severe damage caused by the wastes.
