On November 1, the consortium led by CIE won the bid for EPC of Jinchailong Tailings Pond of Hunan Shizhuyuan Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shizhuyuan"), achieving a new breakthrough in EPC of tailings pond in karst areas.

It is a new tailings pond built by Shizhuyuan in response to the national requirements for environmental protection and scientific construction of tailings pond, which supports the 10 kt/a Mining and Dressing Technological Upgrading Project of Shizhuyuan. The tailings pond is of Class II, with a total dam height of 199m, a total storage capacity of 88,034,600 m3, developed karst and complex engineering geological conditions. The tailings with a grain size of 200 mesh into the pond accounts for 81.91%. The tailings dam technology is complex and a series of technological problems need to be overcome.

In view of the characteristics and difficulties of the project, CIE's management and technical teams conducted comprehensive landform analysis for this area, gave full play to their expertise and advantages in the design and construction of large-scale tailings ponds, and submitted a highly competitive technical proposal and bid according to local conditions. Finally, the company stood out from many bidders and was highly recognized by the Owner.
