At 8:58 of June 19, the New area 300m² sinter machine low temperature waste heat power generation EPC project of Anning Company of Wusteel Group Kunming Co., Ltd. which is undertaken by a wholly owned subsidiary of CIE --- Hunan Zhongye Changtian Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd, was connected into electricity grid and electricity was generated successfully.

The project was commenced on Aug. 22 of 2013, and a set of 12 megawatt steam makeup condensing steam turbine generator unit was equipped for the project, the waste heat of sinter machine main duct and waste heat of circular cooler in the sintering production line and saturated steam of convertor in ironmaking plant were utilized comprehensively, the recovered steam was sent to steam turbine generator unit for generation for the purpose of energy saving and emission reduction in enterprises. This is the first time for CIE to use the waste heat resources outside sintering plant for generation, indicating CIE has a new breakthrough in comprehensive utilization of waste heat and waste energy in iron and After the project is put into production, the annual electricity generation is predicted that will reach 83.05million KWH, 15300t standard coal will be saved annually, which means 38,200t carbon dioxide emission will be reduced annually and this will significantly reduce the sinter production cost and decrease the company’s external purchase of electricity and bring substantial economic benefits and environmental benefits for Kunsteel.
