On April 20, the commencement ceremony of the Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Improvement and Reconstruction Project of No.5 Sintering Plant of Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. ("WISCO") was held at the original site of the No.3 Sintering Plant of WISCO, and CIE undertakes the overall design and supply of some equipment for the Project.

The Project will build a new 550m2 sintering machine and supporting facilities after the demolition of the No. 3 Sintering Plant to ensure that the process equipment and automatic control reach the first-class level and international advanced level of similar models in China. Key and core technologies and equipment such as primary active carbon desulfurization + SCR denitration and direct-connected hood-type waste heat boiler independently developed by CIE are adopted for flue gas purification and waste heat power generation of the Project, which can effectively improve the production capacity of sintering area, reduce the energy consumption of sinter process, decrease the emission of particulate matters and air pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitric oxide, fluoride and dioxin to meet ultra-low emission requirements and improve the regional environment and working environment.
