The KISC Sintering Waste Heat Power Generation Works undertaken by CIEE was connected to the grid for power generation
On March 31, the Sintering Waste Heat Power Generation Works under the Environmental Relocation Transformation and Upgrading Project for Promoting the Implementation of Supply-side Structural Reform of WISCO Kunming Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. undertaken by CIEE, a subsidiary of CIE, was successfully connected to the grid for power generation.
A set of 66t/h (48t/h under MP steam and 18t/h under LP steam) dual-temperature and dual-pressure waste heat boiler, a set of 14t/h (14t/h under MP steam) built-in large flue waste heat boiler, a set of 15MW supplementary and condensing steam turbine generator unit, and utilities and auxiliary facilities were constructed in the works.
After the works are officially put into production, it is estimated that the annual power generation will be about 100 million kWh, and about 22 kt of standard coal can be saved every year, equivalent to a reduction in carbon dioxide emission of about 49 kt, which can significantly reduce the production cost of sinter, lower KISC’s purchase need of electricity, and bring considerable economic and environmental benefits to the Owner.
