Global initiative | the Robot System to Detect the Granularity of Mixture Independently Developed by CIE Has Been Put into Use
On June 10, the robot system to detect the granularity of mixture independently developed by CIE has been put into use after finishing 72 hours of testing on the 3#sintering machine in Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.
Granularity is a key technological parameter that directly reflects the effect of mixture particles. The key to intelligently control mixture particles, improve the gas permeability of material layers, and improve the production and quality of sintering is to detect the granularity of the mixture online. The granularity of mixture is thin yet widely distributed (0-12mm), which means that detect it by eyes is infeasible. In addition, the granularity is too loose to be screened directly, which means achieving accurate online detection of it has always been a worldwide problem in the field.
To address the problem, the "smart production and development of sintering" team of CIE has integrated many key technologies such as shaping it by liquid nitrogen, intelligent screening from many angles, robots and automatic sampling and discarding to develop the robot system to detect the granularity of mixture and achieve online detection of four granularity ranges (0-3mm,3-5mm,5-8mm,and over 8mm). The online detection only takes 10 minutes and the average margin of error of the result is less than 3%. This robot system has overcoming the difficulty to accurately detect the granularity of mixture online.
The "robot system to detect the granularity of mixture" has been put into use successfully and it's the first one worldwide. It's another landmark of the 3# sintering machine of Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, the first demonstration project of smart manufacturing, after putting the technology of "one-click ignition" into use. The robot system will be a propel of improving the smart production of sintering machines of the company to an advanced world standard.
