On July 15, there was good news from the State Intellectual Property Office that the "flue gas desulfurization and denitration method and device using tandem double adsorption towers" developed by CIE was awarded the 21st China Patent Silver Award, which is another intellectual property honor of CIE after one Gold Award and four Excellence Awards.

To solve such problems as lack of key sintering flue gas purification technology and core equipment, the patent "flue gas desulfurization and denitration method and device using tandem double adsorption towers" has developed a pre-acidification cascade double-stage adsorption technology and equipment spraying ammonia in stages, stratified controllable high efficiency adsorption technology and equipment, as well as flue gas temperature control and wastewater zero discharging technologies, having fundamentally solved the problems that the traditional sintering flue gas purification system is unable to treat with abundant flue gas, is with low efficiency of removing various pollutants through synergy, with poor security and stability and difficulty in disposing wastewater during the recycling of sulfur dioxide, and realized low pollutant emission of the sintering flue gas and utilization of by-products. It is a major technological breakthrough in the field of iron and steel metallurgy in China. Centering on the core patent, CIE has planned a series of 198 patents, including 107 PCT and China invention patents, which have been successfully applied for several sintering and pelletizing projects of Baosteel, Wisco, Angang Group, Longsteel, etc.
