Recently, the key special project of Changsha science and technology projects in 2009——“ The research and development and industrialization of emission reduction of sintering waste gas and key technology of desulphurization and denitration” which was applied by CIE and Hunan University has successfully passed the examination organized by Changsha science and technology bureau.

The project of “ the research and development and industrialization of emission reduction of sintering waste gas and key technology of desulphurization and denitration” mainly includes three sub-projects, that is, study on selective circulation process and equipment of sintering waste gas, Research and industrialization of ammonia ammonium sulfate desulphurization technology and high efficient mass transfer desulphurization dedusting device, and research of medium low temperature SCR denitration process and equipment.

With the promotion and application of the project technology, the emission of SO2、NOx and waste gas in sintering industry of iron and steel can be reduced significantly, the SO2 purification rate can be up to ≥95%, the purification rate of NOx in sintering waste gas can be up to ≥70%，the energy consumption in sintering industry of iron and steel can be reduced by 5%～6%, the original innovation and integrated innovation abilities in the field of emission reduction and desulphurization and denitration can be increased substantially, the overall technical level of the industry and international competitiveness can be raised, this can effectively promote the localization (nationalization) of key technical equipment of energy conservation and environmental protection in metallurgical industry, and can create conditions for developing the international market. In addition to this, the development of such related industries as iron and steel, chemical engineering, machinery, equipment manufacturing, ceramics (pottery), instrument and apparatus etc. in Changsha can be brought along, thus a complete pollutant emission reduction industry group can be formed, which will create over a thousand job opportunities for the society and promote the development of new type of industrialization in Changsha.
