In the morning on Dec 18, the deputy governor of Hunan province and the first deputy secretary of Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of Provincial Party Committee Liu Liwei and the president of CIE Yi Shuguang unveil the nameplate of “Environmental and Energy Engineering technology Co. of CIE”, thus the Environmental and Energy Engineering technology Co. of CIE was officially established in Changsha. This is the key step that CIE has made in terms of implementing the social responsibility of central companies and actively developing energy conservation and emission reduction in iron and steel industry, developing the municipal environmental projects and comprehensive utilization of resources etc. On the same day, the first EPC project of the Environmental and Energy Engineering technology Ltd. of CIE——Xiangsteel waste heat generation project contract was signed at the same time, the party secretary Zhao Zhenying of Xiangsteel and general manager He Guoqiang of CIE signed the contract on behalf of the two parties.

It is known that the Xiangsteel 2×360㎡sinter machine waste heat generation project is transformation and application of special technology achievement of CIE’s provincial important scientific project, it also indicates that the first EPC project of the Environmental and Energy Engineering technology Co. of CIE enters an implementation stage officially. Two sets of waste heat boilers and one set of 20MW turbo generator are arranged for the project, the waste heat from the waste gas of circular cooler is recovered to generate electricity, and the project is to be commissioned after a year. After the commissioning, 100,000 t standard coals will be saved every year, 250,000 t carbon dioxide emission will be reduced, the investment recovery period is predicted as three years, and the economic and social benefits will be remarkable.
