On Apr 28, the scientific and technological department of Hunan organized specialists to hold a meeting for acceptance of significant scientific and technological special project of Hunan province in Lianyuan““Research and development of key technology and equipment for energy conservation of sintering production and waste gas desulfurization of iron and steel plants and project demonstration”. The project is undertaken by CIE which is as the leading unit.

The special project is undertaken by CIE, Central South University, Hualin Xiangsteel and Hualin Liansteel jointly, CIE is the leading unit for the execution of the project, and the vice general manager of CIE Ye Hengdi is the chief expert. According to major research, the special project is divided into three sub-projects, including “research on sintering energy conservation and waste gas circulation process and equipment”, “research on technology and equipment for high efficient recovery and utilization of waste heat in sintering waste (flue) gas”, and “research on sintering waste gas desulfurization technology and equipment” with time limit of 3 years.

By site investigation, hearing report on execution of the special project and reviewing related data, and after questioning and discussion, the expert group agrees unanimously that, all the economic and technical indexes specified in the proposal for the significant scientific and technological special project of Hunan have been completed and part of them have been overfulfilled, thus the group agrees to pass the acceptance.

The special project provides strong technical support for energy conservation and emission reduction of iron and steel sintering industry, its technical achievements have wide market prospect, and it is proposed to speed up their popularization and application.
