In year 2012 evaluation activity for prizes of excellent engineering prospecting, engineering design, standard design, software and turnkey projects in national metallurgical industry, 8 projects of CIE have won prizes, including 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 4 third prizes.

The projects winning the prizes have their own characteristics. The Baima Iron Mine Phase two mining and beneficiation project of Xinbaima Mining Co. Ltd of Pansteel Group is the largest metallurgical mine project to the south of Yellow River in China, with annual production of 9 million t crude ores, the project construction scope is wide, the system is complicated, the mine facilities are scattered within the 30km2 of mountain area. Depending on rich design experience of design personnel, through comparison of multiple schemes, reasonable project arrangement is realized with smooth process flow, the project has won high appraisal of the owner after being put into production, and it won the first prize for engineering design in this evaluation activity.

The turnkey project for construction of Brazil GERDAU ACOMINAS S/A 198㎡sinter machine system and its auxiliary system is the first oversea turnkey project of CIE, it is also the export of complete set of China domestic metallurgical equipment for the first time, the project department has overcome many difficulties,  worked out a successful mode for contracting foreign turnkey projects. After the project was completed, the related parties were very satisfied with the management and successful commissioning of the project, and the project won the first prize for turnkey project in this evaluation activity.

Besides, the Xiangsteel 2×360㎡sinter machine waste heat generation EPC project and engineering design for comprehensive utilization of incinerator residue of kitchen waste and waste power generation plant in Yueliang bay, Nanshan area of Shenzhen have all played the roles of demonstration projects in the context of implementing the policy of circular economy, energy conservation and environmental protection.

In view of the Japanese Wakayama Ironmaking Co. 52 sinter machine EP project of Japanese Sumitomo Metal Industry Co., Ltd, it was the first time for China to export complete set of metallurgical equipment to the developed countries, which proves CIE’s leading position in the world in the field of sintering and pelletizing field and is of milestone significance.
