On Nov 6, Baosteel Zhanjiang iron and steel base 2*550㎡ sintering waste heat power generation phase 1 project undertaken by a wholly owned subsidiary of CIE Hunan Zhongye Changtian Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully connected into electricity grid.

The technology is mature, advanced and reliable, the reliability and economy of the whole waste heat power generation system are fully taken into account, the balance point of energy recovery amount and technology economy are worked out, with seeking optimal input and output and the reasonable comprehensive utilization of waste heat as the principle, the technology ensures the system the best cost performance.

It is predicted that, after the project (phase 1 and phase 2) is officially put into production, the annual electricity generation will be 0.228 billion KWH, 59700t standard coal will be saved annually, which means 149,100t carbon dioxide emission will be reduced annually and this will significantly reduce the sinter production cost, ease the electricity use tension of Zhanjiang iron and steel company, improve the energy utilization ratio and bring substantial economic benefits and environmental benefits for Baosteel.
