On Jul 11, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIE --- Hunan Zhongye Changtian Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. signed the sintering waste heat power generation system EPC project contract of Guangdong Zhangjiang iron and steel base project of Baosteel with Shanghai Baosteel Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.

The waste gas and residue heat from two sets of 600㎡circular coolers of two 600㎡sintering production lines for the project are utilized, the HRSG produces two different quality of waste heat steam through heat transfer, power generation is conducted through steam turbine generator unit, thus the waste heat flue gas of sintering and cooling production line was fully utilized. Two sets of directly hoodconnected double pressure HRSGs(65t/h+20 t/h), one set of 30MW steam makeup condensing steam turbine generator unit, one set of 14215m³/h circular cooling water system and their public and auxiliary facilities will be constructed for the project.

After the project is put into production, the annual electricity generation is predicted that will reach 0.228 billion KWH, 59700t standard coal will be saved annually, which means 147,250t carbon dioxide emission will be reduced annually and this will significantly reduce the sinter production cost and bring substantial economic benefits and environmental benefits for Bao steel.
