On August 12, the China Iron and Steel Association, the Award Committee of Metallurgy Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society for Metals announced the winning projects in 2020, that is, the "R&D and application of ultra-low power consumption and long-life ignition heat preservation technology and equipment" won the first prize. It is another first prize for other field after the first prize in metallurgical science and technology which was won by CIE in 2018. In addition, the project of "key technologies to improve sintering efficiency based on air flow optimization and return fines diversion process" won the second prize, which was secondarily participated and completed by CIE.

Established by China Iron and Steel Association and China Society for Metals in 2000, the Metallurgical Science and Technology Award is really the highest science and technology award in China's metallurgical industry and has great influence in the country and even in the world.
