On Mar 16, “Limestone semidry flue gas desulphurization process” developed by CIE with cooperation of Xiangtan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. successfully passed the appraisal of scientific achievements organized by Hunan Science and Technology Bureau.

The expert opinions are as follows: The process has a high desulphurization rate, it has a good applicability for sintering process, the byproduct can be effectively recovered and utilized, the system is simple and the operation cost is low, it has reached the international advanced level, and it has possessed conditions for industrial application and spreading.
