Industrial application of activated carbon flue gas cleaning technology independently developed by CIE

On Oct. 21th, CIE signed the supply contract of two complete sets of 550m2 sintering flue gas cleaning (purification) equipment with Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. in the meeting for supply and demand of Hunan environmental industry, which indicates that CIE’s independent developed technology is recognized in the sintering flue gas cleaning market, and is firstly applied in the industry.

After signing the contract, the activated carbon flue gas cleaning technology developed by CIE will be applied in two sets of 550m2 sinter machine project of Baosteel Zhanjiang I & S Co., Ltd., the flue gas cleaning capacity will be up to 2×1,800,000 m3/h, the annual byproduct of sulfuric acid is 23,000t, the emission concentration of such pollutants as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, dioxin and dust etc. can meet or exceeded the national standard (close to the EU standard).

The activated carbon flue gas cleaning technology is the most advanced flue gas cleaning technology in current sintering flue gas cleaning field. The technology can remove many kinds of pollutants like sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, dioxin, heavy metal and dust as well as recover the sulfur resources and produce concentrated sulfuric acid, and it is a comprehensive resource recovery and flue gas treatment technology. CIE has devoted itself to the research and development of the technology for many years, and recently based on the research of the national 863 project of “Industrial and furnace flue gas discharge control technology” and through full cooperation with Tsinghua University and Baosteel, it has conducted many years of laboratory tests and small scale tests ,and finally completed the study of desulfurization, denitration, dioxin removal mechanism, the catalyst and process flow of this technology . They also have made important theoretical breakthroughs, at the same time, the key equipment has been researched and developed and the selfdesign and selfmanufacturing of major equipment have been realized.

Based on this, CIE has actively conducted industrial application tests, it has set up a set of pilot device of activated carbon flue gas cleaning, which has obtained a large number of reliable operation data and achievements, and it has successfully developed the activated carbon flue gas cleaning process system and technology with full proprietary intellectual property rights. The technology is characterized by collaborative control of many kinds of pollutants, high removal efficiency, low ammonia consumption, stable system operation, cyclic utilization of surplus energy, recycling of attached product and no discharge of pollutants etc..The system indexes of the whole system is advanced, it has reached or exceeded the international advanced level, and many patents have been applied.
